Miami Performance International Festival ‘24 (M/P ’24

Feature 1The 13th Edition of Miami Performance International Festival ‘24 (M/P ’24), will be held in a hybrid format, combining in-person and online film screenings and events. The in-person components of the festival will take place in Miami , FL at Edge Zones Art Space, Miami, FL. The online components will be hosted through Edge Zones virtual YouTube and Facebook platforms, and archived in our Vimeo Channel with most screenings accessible globally. . On September 27, 2024 the festival will open with a one-day virtually streaming program consisting of performance videos. It will culminate with one days of in-person live performances on September 28, 2024, curated with the participation of local Miami at Edge Zones Art Center in Miami . This festival puts M/P’24 artists at all career stages in critical dialogue with one another and with M/P’24 audiences.

People come to Allapattah now in search of the new and the nontraditional, informative intersections and cross-pollination of different art forms, ideas, and ages. Our participants and our audiences is all ages and we see a lot of unexpected collaborations happen through this platform. Which makes things really exciting.” Says Charo Oquet. In addition to live performances, M/P’24 will publish an international video performance festival in a digital performance platform Youtube: @edgezonesartprojects4698 and thus be connected to a non-local event field in real and virtual spaces. A one-day Streaming-Festival with a program consisting of live performances and the virtual space, as well as interviews and talks, will open the festival starting on September 27 th, 2024 from 4 P.M. to 7:00 PM culminating with a week of live streaming performances September 28th with a series of live and video curated performances with local Miami artists in Miami FL locations. In this multidimensional, multichannel communication the aim is to turn receivers into active transmitters and inviting submissions of performance from all over to the. The festival will become an echo chamber, a resonating space of symbiotic forms of communication—a response to the symbiotic planet. The recognition that life on Earth arises and endures through the symbiosis of all life forms also demands new modes of communication.
